Stern Partner 🏙️ Part 9

Forward~

Blacklisted

I wondered if there would be kissing before the sex. I figured that'd be nice but no sense getting greedy. And what did I get? Vanessa not just kissing or making out, but being embraced and knowing how wanted she is, not just because she's attractive, but because she's her.

And that's why they're called the Partners.

    (Analysis)

I really wish I could analyze pictures like you. I might if I took the time, but I really appreciate you giving it a boost on not just the nature of the content, but its quality too. It makes me feel reinforced that I'm right to enjoy it so much and I hope Gamma takes it as a compliment as an artist; speaking for myself, when someone says something to the effect of, "I don't just enjoy what you write, it's of high quality too," it's a massive confidence boost.

  • Ohhhhhh interesting. gammainks drew the dude as a blonde this time, to help differentiate the pokegirls' partners from each other. I like it. Keeps the pairings more original this way. And love how she's just straight up monologuing during the intimate embrace. And she's super affectionate. Adds to my favorite Eeveelution for sure x3

  • It's already wholesome and heartwarming but i wouldn't mind if rookie was caressing back of Vanessa's head😊

  • I was going to wait for this entire series to be finished before considering covering it, but this is just so wholesome that I would be remiss if I didn't cover this artwork separately.

First I want to talk on how Gammainks uses the lighting in this scene, the lighting covers Vanessa, almost as if were a blanket over her, showing how the rookie* has made her more comfortable and calm as well literally making her days much brighter. The brightness of the light in this artwork also helps to create the wholesome atmosphere
of this artwork, as bright lights are often associated with peace and calmness.

As well Gammainks smartly composes the artwork to place emphasis on the kiss. He places both Vanessa and the rookies heads in the rightmost third of the image while leaving the rest of the image quite barren to ensure the viewer is focusing on it. As well gamma uses the lighting of the scene, by having Vanessa covered in light, and the rookie covered in darkness, to guide our eyes into the intersection, I.E the kiss.

Finally I want to talk about how Gammainks uses movement in this artwork. Of course the most obvious is the tail wagging, coming from Vanessa. Tail wagging in cats is a sign of them being happy and comfortable, and therefore is used in this artwork to reinforce that. But as well I want to talk on the lack of movement from the rest of scene. There is very little other implied movement in this scene, which I think implies a sense of calm, comfort, and stillness. Which even as someone who never had to work a office job, I still understand is quite rare, and therefore shows the significance of this moment.

Anyways it's always fun to cover Gammainks artworks. Anyways, try to get through the work week, hug your espeon, and have a good day.

*As he has otherwise been unnamed, I'll be referring to the protagonist of this artwork as rookie, unless another name is stated.
**This was also the first analysis that I had done on a computer, which made this MUCH easier.

  • I'm only going to say it once, I wouldn't mind if Vanesa broke my hips by humping and then I ed out and woke up next to Vanesa.

  • the back of his shirt likely says “カモネギ” (kamonegi) which is the Japanese name of Farfetch’d, which is that bird pokemon that carries a leek, which is what that green and white slingshot-looking thing is under the text カモネギ. in case anyone cares

First off, while I do appreciate the compliment, I do truly believe the anybody is capable of analysing artworks. It’s a skill like any other that we are all capable of. And I also want to say I really enjoy your analysis of this artwork.

Secondly, my thoughts were very similar to yours when I first was doing these analyses. I had realised that because of the subject matter of these artworks that they would not receive the proper appreciation and recognition they deserved, so even if it was a drop in what should have been a much larger bucket, I decided to see if I could show more people the quality of these artworks.

Finally, I think it has to be said, that you don’t need me, or anyone to tell you if something is worthy of you liking it. Art at the end of the day, is about making you feel something. And if that art makes you horny, happy, whatever. Than it’s done it’s job and you are well within your right to call it good artwork.

This is really interesting. Although it makes me curious. I wonder if Gamma really considers these things when drawing, or if it happened to be some arbitrary placing of the characters on the sense of "Well, where would they kiss? The living room of their apartment/house makes sense" and the the lighting follows suit as one character has to sit down and the other would be on top, causing the light from the window--which could have been another arbitrary decision--to cover one character completely while the other is put in darkness. Similarly, I wonder if the framing was intentional or simply made to fit more of the characters into the scene, and even the movement could have been a somewhat arbitrary decision.

I suppose I'm making a sort "The curtains are just blue" argument, but I am genuinely curious to know if this is what goes through an artist's mind when making art like this or if it's all coincidental or even subconscious decisions.

I believe there is a couple factors. For one, most of the things I mentioned within my analysis also just tend to make artworks look better. So it’s is likely that gamma simply thought that the artwork would look better with them being included. For example, framing key parts of artworks in the furthest most left and right third is a very common technique used to make artworks look better.

As well about 50% of art analysis is interpretation, and depending on style, you can use interpretation more or less. Which is completely fine. At the end of the day art analysis isn’t some review to show how good or bad something is. It’s simply an expression of ones thoughts and feelings on artworks

At the end of the day, I think it’s a mix between Gamma actually using techniques to create meaning, Gamma using them because they look good, and the viewer simply finding meaning in the artwork.

That's a good way of looking at it. It likely is a combination. Either way, I liked your analysis of this piece. It made the art feel deeper than what I originally thought.

  • That Vanessa is clinging to Alex is just heartwarming, but also very romantic. I love it.
