Second page of this comic, commissioned by Nahvedzii! Nävis is taking the opportunity and switching the status of Nahv's collar to 'free use'.

Blacklisted

I completly get this is a porn comic, and it is looking to be quite good... but god damn are those collars badly designed if you can just change them.

Not really, chief. It's easier to make a collar that can be any of the colours, instead of having to make each one of the different colours a standalone. It also allows you to change on the fly, if your mood about stuff changes, or you need a break.

Yes, I completely get that. However if anyone can just change your collar FOR you that is kind of a problem, as seen in the comic. It ain't really consent if someone else can simply declare you free-use. So perhaps some more verification, or some other notification that the collar is changing would be a good idea. Maybe some vibration so someone can't pull the old switcheroo on you without you noticing.

Well yeah, it wouldn't work in the real world....but then again none of this'd really work in the real world....

Actually, I think the easiest, simplest, and cheapest solution would be to just have some snap-glow necklaces that everyone wears. Of course, if everyone buys their own or the club kept a stash of these more advanced collars, then I’d understand.
