This week's random sports fact: I'll keep this one brief, because its subject matter is something very, very brief.

There was an NBA player whose entire playing career was 4 seconds long. His name is JamesOn Curry, and here's a video containing his whole NBA career: Link
(No; he's not related to Stephen Curry, I checked)

He was subbed in for a short moment near the end of a quarter, then subbed out during the break, and he never saw the court again. He didn't even get to touch the ball.

  • Fun history fact: The phrase “it’s raining cats and dogs” comes from 17th century London, where butchers would throw out dead pets into piles of garbage on the streets. When it rained heavily, these carcasses were carried into the River Thames, where people would notice them floating in the water, giving the impression they fell from the sky with the rain. Poets such as Jonathan Swift described the phenomenon in their writing, leading to the phrase becoming shorthand for heavy rain.

How often were people throwing out dead pets in the rain for it to become a saying?
