MemberLooking at how red their faces are, I refuse to believe that there isn't at least a dose of off-screen psychic manipulation here. What they're saying indicates that they have not a lick of shame or even self-control in their heads, but that huge face-obscuring blush on both Buneary and Lopunny (and their stating over and over that they ARE embarrassed by this) paints the complete opposite picture. ...Which is pretty much why this sequence comes off as weird without that explanation, because of the mental disconnect at play.
Also, the thought of this being due to some psychic force causing them to do all of this turns this from "cute and hot but weird" to "cute and hot".
